Playing the game
For those that don't want to read a large guide but would like some starting out tips.
- If you are new to the game, I recommend that you read the Basic Game Information page as well. Many of the terms I will use are listed there.
- What is the point of the game you
ask? Well, since there is no end game challenge I
will list several reasons why people play in no particular order.
- Joining a Guild. Guilds provide comradeship and
social interaction.
- Playing all the classes. Each
class has its challenges and rewards.
- Maxing your character or
multiple characters.
- Doing Events, Dungeons and taking on the scoundrel Oryx.
- Helping others level up or battle or just being a nice person.
- For some its just wasting time and relaxation.
- Joining a Guild. Guilds provide comradeship and
social interaction.
Starting the game for the first time
- You are a noob, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a noob. Everyone that plays this game was a noob at on point.
- When you create a new player you start as a wizard. The wizard is a very excellent class and is the one we are going to use in this example.
- If this is your very first time login in then you will start in the tutorial. Once you are done that tutorial, I believe it places you in a realm. Please use your nexus hot key to go to the nexus.
- In the Nexus, you will see a statue of a Gold Paladin above you on the left. Above you on the right is your Pet yard portal. Below you on the right is your Vault door and below you on the left is a Guild door. Slightly further above the gold Paladin are 2 grey Warriors on either side of the hallway. These warriors all you to change realms and a few other things.
- If you have not selected a name for your character, please move your guy to the gold Paladin and click on it. This is where you can select a name, up to 10 alpha characters. You need a name to talk to anyone. If you don't have a name all they will see is 3 dots (...) instead of speech.
- How do I get gold? You can buy gold with real money at the gold coin kiosks located around nexus.
- How do I get fame? Fame is acquired through killing monsters and gods. Lots of monsters and gods.
For new players I recommend 3 classes
The Wizard which is the first class that you get when you start the game.
- Wizard has very good weapon range.
- Even unmaxed Level 20, he hits hard which creates more chances at a soul bound drop.
- Items such as Staff of Horror, Robe of the Master, Destruction Sphere Spell and a Ring of Superior Defense or Health are very good items that allow the Wizard to be successful. These items all can be had for a SPD pot each or all are found in and around God Lands.
- The Wizard uses a spell bomb that can do a lot of damage when used on Gods.
- He has excellent weapon range.
- The Priest has a healing ability and when used properly, the Priest even unmaxed can take a lot of damage.
- Items such as Wand of Shadow, Robe of the Master, Tome of Renewing and a Ring of Superior Defense or Health are very good items that allow the Priest to be successful. Each item will cost a SPD each, sometimes the Wand will be 2 SPD.
- The only downside of this class, he does not hit hard compared to all the other classes.
- The main advantage is even unmaxed he can stay out in Godlands for a long time increasing his chance at pot drops.
- He has a mix of abilities between the Wizard and the Priest.
- He uses a Staff which gives him very good weapon range.
- The Necromancer gets soul bound drops almost as good as a Wizard.
- He has the ability to steal HP (health) from enemies to heal himself and those close by.
- Properly played this guy can stay in battle for a very long time.
- Items such as Staff of Horror, Robe of the Master, Essence Tap Skull and a Ring of Superior Defense or Health are very good items that allow the Necromancer to be successful. These items all can be had for a SPD pot each.
- You may want to consider using a Soul Siphon Skull because of the reduced MP cost. These can be found as a common drop by monsters in the Undead Lair.
Playing the game
- Starting out you should stay in groups, find other people with low level classes. When you are in a group, battle the same monsters you share experience points regardless of who kills the monster. The more people in the group the faster the monsters die and the less risk to your character.
- As you kill things the monsters / gods will sometimes drop items in bags. If the item has a red background that means you can't use it for the class you are playing currently. If you can use compare its stats against the stats of the item you have equipped. If the new item stats are better then equip it and discard the old one.
- Level 20 is the highest level available in the game. Once this Level is reached your EXPERIENCE Bar (orange, on the right side middle) will show as FAME. Now for all kills you will accumulate Fame.
- Your character has a slot for 6 HP pots and one for 6 MP pots. The HP are health potions that are used to heal and the MP will refill your mana points which are used by your ability. You should always have these 6 HP and 6 MP pots before venturing out to do battle.
- At some point around level 15 or 20 you will want more challenge. Head to an area called Godlands generally to the center of the map.
- From time to time events will pop up such as Cube God, Skull Shrine, Davy Jones locker and others. New players will find these almost impossible to do without dying. I recommend staying away from these until you have more experience in the game. Even then they are going to be very dangerous.
- Each class you play has 8 stats. LIFE, MANA, DEF, DEX, SPD, ATT, WIS and VIT. Of these stats the most important is DEF. With maxed DEF you will find that you can take more damage and generally stay in the fight longer.
- Many advanced players will use a second account to farm POTS. Farming pots is simply killing gods until they drop the stat pots I listed above. Your farmer's job will cause him to die many times, don't get attached to him. As the farmer finds stat pots, trade them to your main account and have it drink them.
- The next stats that are very important are ATT and DEX for killing Gods. The more of these 2 stats you have the better chance you have of getting a soul bound drop, in other words the better chance you have in getting a stat pot.
- These are the basics that I think are important to new players.
- Try to join a guild. A guild is a group of players (team) that may play together, be social and perhaps help fellow guildies.
