The Trick to getting Rich
Rich is all a matter of perspective. If you are a person just starting and you see someone that has good equipment then that someone is rich. I have several characters that usually range from 0/8 to 8/8 and that would make me rich I suppose. There are times when I have cleaned out my vault selling items to get pots so that I can pot up my guys, or perhaps feeding my pets. During this time I would not consider myself rich but perhaps well prepared. Once again, rich is a matter or perspective.
There is no real trick to getting rich except perhaps hard work, a little luck and following some guidelines or a plan. It is rare that you will be able to get rich using one character, or at the very least ... difficult. You will find that you need to have 2 or even more characters to do this, or one account with multiple character slots.
What and where to farm our riches
Some days farming Godlands for pots is a bit slow, and on other days I can get lots of pots in a short amount of time. I find that the pot drop rates are erratic.
Do the Daily Quest and get the Loot Drop Potions. These potions will increase your chances at getting pots in godlands, dungeons and quests as well as increasing your chances at getting good loot. Drink them just before farming. Remember to pause your character to prevent these loot drop bonuses from running out if you are not actively farming.
Farming dungeons will guarantee more consistency with pot drops. The dungeons you will be farming will be Sprite Worlds, Undead Lairs, Snake Pits, Pentaracts, Ocean Trench, Abyss of Demons, Haunted Cemetery, Davey Jones' Locker, Candy Land, Mad Lab, Manor of Immortals, Lord of the Lost Lands and Oryx's Castle.
Use the right class for the job at hand
Another trick is to select a farmer for a certain task if you have the extra characters. If you are planning on farming a lot of one type of dungeon you may want to select a specialist. Remember that everyone plays differently and the examples of 4/8 classes (or better) below are what works for me but maybe not for you.
Other things to think about
There is no quick way to getting rich. This takes a long time, patience and luck. Remember that every time you die you are setting yourself back because you have to replace your dead character. So play cowardly don't take big risks, concentrate on your dungeons stay healthy, nexus when you need to. Buy the Swag, equip it, show it off, or hide it under the mattress.

- You need to be able to recover from a character death quickly, this means you have to have a stock of pots and items to get your new character to at least 4/8 (SPD, ATT, DEX and DEF). A character that is 6/8 or even 8/8 just means better survivability.
- A character death will slow the whole getting rich process down. If your goal is to get rich you now have to play smart, cowardly and don't die.
- You will have to be aware that if you take chances, such as trying to do the more dangerous events in small groups that you have a greater chance of dying.
- You need to survive to farm for riches, a death costs pots, items and more importantly TIME. Be a coward stay away from things that are large RISK vs SMALL reward. I will say it a different way ... DEATH SLOWS DOWN RICHES!
- If you are farming pots and items with a melee character do you want to take the chance of dying in the Wine Cellar? A melee has a much greater change of being whacked by Orxy 2 than any other class.
- Having your character at 4/8 will increase your soul bound chances and also keep your character alive. If you choose not to use at least a 4/8 character then you are simply wasting your time.
- Your main farming character should be chosen as to what will help the quickest to getting rich. I find that my 4/8 (or better) Wizard is still my best farmer for getting the drops. The 4/8 (or better) Archer using a good bow is also very good at farming for riches. I like the safety the extra range gives me. I have lost too many melee characters to Oryx 2 and while I still occasionally loose a ranged character to Oryx 2 I have the illusion of safety because I am not in his face.
- Ultimately which class you use is a personal choice. You may find that a melee is the perfect choice because it keeps you interested and at the same time you may find that a melee farms a bit slower than some other class. A lot of this depends on your play style as well.
- If you have only one character, and when it dies, then you have to rely on items that you have in your vault and/or that are muled to get a new farmer back up to at least 4/8. If you have 2 or more characters then you concentrate first on getting them up to at least 4/8 before you work on getting rich. I am repeating myself but if you fail to understand this concept you will never get rich.
- Risk management is key, I tend to stay away from events that will kill my farmer for little reward. Events such as Skull Shrines and Cube God don't drop much and I find the risk is far greater than any reward. Don't get me wrong, I will do these events once I have my nest egg but until then I leave them alone.
- You need to have at least two characters that are 4/8 (SPD, ATT, DEX and DEF).

- Sprite World occasionally drops DEF and always DEX. If you are not solo then your chances are diminished as to whether you get a drop. BUT, did you know that the Purple (pain in the butt) God that inhabits the Sprite World still drops an ATT sometimes? I believe that it's drop rate for ATT inside Sprite World is higher than it's drop rate in Godlands. This is a good source for ATT. The white bag drop rate for the Extreme Prejudice and the Plane Walker is pretty high compared to other bosses that drop white bags but it is all relative.
- Undead Lair are quite nice, they take a bit longer to do than the Sprite World and are a bit more dangerous but if you take your time you will get the hang of it. The WIS is a nice drop and occasionally you will get a Doom Bow. The Doom bow drops at a higher rate than some other white bag drops.
- Snake Pit drops SPD and sometimes there is one or more treasure rooms which also drop SPD. This is a fairly easy dungeon and it is dropped by at least 4 different gods usually hanging around the outskirts of Godlands.
- Pentaract sometimes spawns in Godlands and can be swarming with Gods. If this is the case it is best to just leave the area. Remember Risk vs Reward, if there is too much risk then why would you risk death for a measly pot or two. The Pentaract drops several different pots and can drop up to 5 items although the best I have ever seen is 4 bags.
- Ocean Trench is one of two sources for Mana. This dungeon has now become the trash dungeon of the game. When Oryx announces the Hermit God, a large majority of the players in the realm rush to do it. Then one or two hearty souls will rush the Ocean Trench and everyone will TP to the god killing it in seconds. It is very hard to get Mana or any of the other drops due to the sheer number of people usually found at this dungeon but it has become a lot safer because of this problem. You should try to attend to this dungeon every chance you get.
- Abyss of Demons is very dangerous and if you are unsure then tackle this with a group of people. I find that even with an 8/8 and the fact that I do Abyss all the time it can still be very dangerous. The Abyss has a chance for one or more treasure rooms which has the same drops as the Boss. The treasure room is dangerous and a can mean death if you are too slow on your Nexus key. The Abyss bosses always drop DEF and VIT if you are lucky enough or solo you can get both. Don't forget that the White Demons here sometimes will drop ATT at a higher rate than in Godlands. This is another good source of ATT.
- Haunted Cemetery is actually not to hard until you get to the last boss. A small group that is mostly unpotted or slightly potted classes will have problems with the last boss. There are 4 mini bosses, each drop a SPD or WIS with the main Boss dropping a VIT.
- Davy Jones' Locker is actually pretty easy until you get to the boss which can be troublesome. You can get ATT or WIS from the boss.
- Candy Land gets to be a bit boring after awhile but is a very good source of DEF, ATT and WIS.
- Mad Lab is easy to solo. You should always try for both bosses. The first boss will drop WIS and some good items if you are lucky. The second boss which is only available if all the white coils were cleared on the way to the first boss will drop DEF and WIS along with some good items if you are lucky.
- Manor of Immortals can be challenging only because the darn bats that cause confusion. The Manor has some very good drops that can be used as Pet Food and always drops at least one ATT.
- Lord of the Lost Lands is easy when it is by itself, but if it is in Godlands surrounded by gods it can be challenging. It drops DEF, SPD, DEX, WIS, ATT and VIT.
- Oryx's Castle is pretty easy, and can be quick with a large group of people. A good source of DEX, DEF, SPD, VIT, ATT and WIS among other items.

Remember that everyone plays differently and the examples of 4/8 classes (or better) below are what works for me but maybe not for you.
- Trickster or a Rogue with Planewalker can TP across empty space and complete Sprite Worlds at an incredibly fast pace.
- A Warrior, Knight or Paladin can all tank through Abyss of Demons faster than any other class. (ok I lied, again. I am becoming an expert rusher on Rogue, but generally the melee's are faster)
- A Sorcerer with Fulmination and a good Wand can complete Abyss of Demons almost as fast as the melees, a pet with Heal and MP Heal helps a lot.
- For the Snake Pit any 4/8 character should have no problems but the Warrior will most likely be the fastest do to his incredible offensive attacks for breaking through the walls and using his ability for speed.
- A Rogue using cloak can speed safely through the Undead Lair. Make sure that when your cloak runs out you restart the cloak before continuing the rush.
- A Rogue or melee can do the Mad Lab pretty quickly, and I mean clearing all the white coils, although its pretty hard to plan to farm the labs unless you go to a fame train server where lots of Mad Labs tend to drop.
Other things to think about
- As you accumulate pots, use them to pot up your other characters, then once you have all the characters potted start converting the extra pots to DEF, LIFE, MANA or WC Top items for storage. You can see that a LIFE is one spot to your 6 DEF spots. I am pointing out the obvious but the less space you take up, the easier it is on your inventory management.
- You should be prepared for going to Oryx and Oryx 2 at all times. Oryx will sometimes give you some decent items which you can use or sell. Oryx 2 is your source for the famous WC Tops which are now, the highest price items in the game because the UT items are soulbound which means "not tradeable".
- If you get WC tops from O2 you need to consider keeping them or selling them. If they are good items that you may use in the future then keep them. Another reason for keeping them, a Gsorc (robe of the Grand Sorcerer) for example is worth 2 - 4 life depending on the week. That is one inventory space instead of the 2 - 4, you can always sell it for the going rate if you need Life or other items.
- I know that Skull Shrines and Cube Gods have nice UT drops but these drops happen very rarely. In the year and a half I have been playing RotMG I have never gotten a UT drop from them. These are a Risk vs Reward that you should carefully consider before doing them.
- I recommend that you learn to do Tombs the correct way and try very hard to become competent on them. Check youtube videos for tips. Currently the Tomb rings and other UT items are dropping at a much higher rate, coupled with the LIFE pots, you really need to be doing these. When in an FFA tomb, they are safer to do with a ranged class. In a private (not FFA)tomb you may be better off with a melee or Rogue.
- The use of a Backpack can greatly reduce your need to go to Nexus and drop off your items. If you don't want to put out real world cash to get one of these fine tools you can do the cheap method which I still use, get a Mule. Have a mule sit in the ocean, make sure its /paused so some twit does not kill it, it also helps if you have some def on the mule to keep it safe. The mule will collect your pots and act like a backpack.
- Once you start collecting your wealth you will need some way to management it. You should consider a PC program called Muledump so you know what you have and which character has it.
- Remember the cruelness or coolness of this game. Perma-death! I once lost 4 maxed 8/8 characters in about 2 days by nothing but carelessness or as I call it STUPIDITY. I was able to recover one of these characters quickly but then I had to recover 3 more. It took a better part of about 2 or 3 days per character to recover to 6/8. I did this by playing really really cowardly, no more risks, nexus on a fly fart, farming the easy dungeons and selling the pots for the items and pots I need. Oh yeah, I am a very good farmer as well so your results may vary.
