The Skull Shrine - Quest
The Skull Shrine is a big killer if you are in small groups or even solo. Since the inclusion of pets this event has gotten easier now that most of us have HP and MP healing pets. For ranged classes or other squishy classes that are not in a large group I would recommend coming in towards an inside corner pillar and using the pillar as cover. Move out of cover, shoot and back into cover, while watching your health. Melee classes have an advantage here but still have to watch their health. Go in and lay the beating on the flaming dudes.
Lately this quest lasts only a few seconds when in a crowded realm. To get a good chance on a loot drop you really have to get there first or have a melee and get your hits on the boss. A melee is almost essential because of their higher DPS generally allowing soul bound.
Pot Drops - SPD, DEX, ATT, WIS, DEF, VIT
Item Drops - Orb of Conflict
Level 15 to level 20 - no stats potted
I do not recommend doing this guy in small groups or solo unless you are a solo rogue then you can cloak on your way in damage and get out, repeat until dead.
Level 20 - at least DEF potted
Potted with Max DEF will help you here but you will have better luck as a 4/8 or better. In small groups or solo this is tough with a ranged class. Use the pillars for cover, back off when needed. With a melee just be careful and use your ability as you come in. Always watch your health. With a larger group, ranged classes can come in behind your meat shields (people in front of you) and pound on the big boy. Melees make sure you are close to the front so you can get your soul bound in. The rogue is different, he needs to come in cloaked on the opposite side of the skull that everyone else is attacking to be safe (safe is relative).
Notes on Classes:
Rogues - Upotted or potted, cloak as you get close, concentrate your fire on the boss, back away before you uncloak, repeat.
Assassin - Move in behind a pillar, chuck as many poisons as you can and back away. If you are lucky enough to have a meat shield then move in behind him and use the dagger.
Piercing classes - These types of weapons are a big help in bypassing all the little shield skulls to hit the boss. Watch your health.
Huntress - spam your T0 ability to slow the slow the shields skulls and use the bow to hit the boss.
Archer - Use your ability as extra damage while wailing on the boss. Paralyze is not a factor here because the boss does not move. If you have Quiver of thunder it may be slightly helpful but it can't be spammed.
Knight - If you have max DEF then walk in stun, stun again in 3 seconds while pounding on the big guy.
Mystic - Used your longest duration Orb and stasis the shield skulls. The boss is immune to stasis but not to your curse. Move into range and pound on the boss.
Sorcerer - Use your scepter to clear the way. A fulmination will be helpful slowing the shield skulls.
Warrior - When you get close use berserk and hit the boss as long as you can. If you have JUGG then you can really get in close and not worry about taking too much damage.
Ninja - This guy, while a bit squishy really is a power house when dealing damage. Using a post as cover, come around it and attack the boss. A Doku is a very good weapon here with its slight longer range. If the shield skulls are cleared then let loose the dogs and hit the bugger with your shuriken for big damage.
Wizard - Using the pillars for cover, spell bomb the hell out of the boss. I love wizards for big damage.
Paladin - This guy will have a hard time by himself or in a small group but activate your ability as you close to the shield skulls and use your big hits on the boss. If you have the Oreo (black seal) then you want to first activate your regular seal, quickly switch to the Oreo go in and damage the boss, activate your Oreo as you back away laughing at the boss.
