Fame Farming
I have discovered that the_doomgiver on Wild Shadow forums created a very nice Fame Farming Guide. I highly recommend this for those that just want to get fame fast for leveling their pets. I have used a very similar method and it works well. See his Fame Farming guide.

I decided to run a Rogue using Doomgiver's guide.
- First I created a new character, dropped the weapon, the cloak and the HP pot. You don't want to mistakenly drink the pot because that would ruin your Thirsty bonus. Then I equipped some defensive items such as Hippo and the Expo. I would have used a ParaDEF or ParaHP ring if I had them. I was too lazy to buy them. :)
- Do you have a healing pet? If so better equip that as well. It will be a big help.
- Then I went to Euwest 2 and joined a fame train. You have to be really careful in this train. Stay in the middle for safety, other people will take any hits acting as your meat shield, providing the shots aren't piercing. Dodge Dodge Dodge, if you get too hurt then nexus or you will be starting over.
- Watch until you get around 220 to 240 fame because at that point the accumulation of fame really starts to slow down. Now check your muledump to make sure that you have something similar to the rogue in the #1 image below. I have 240 base fame. I only need to kill one god, 1 shot for all my accuracy bonuses.
- In my #2 image I went out and killed the wrong god, I did not get the god kill because I killed a Djinn (blue looking dude) which blows up denying your God Kill. I never knew that it would be denied. I checked the muledump and it showed that I did not get the kill but did get the accuracy bonuses. I went back and killed a White Demon. You can see on my #3 image I have been awarded the God Kill and my accuracy got a bit worse because I was dodging other gods shots but I did managed to keep my sniper accuracy so all is still good.
- You can see on #4 image that I then equipped a Bone Dagger for 2%, Cloak of Twilight for 3%, Hippogriff armor for 3% and Experimental ring for 4% to make my Well Equipped bonus better. As you can see it went from 46 to 79 points. Muledump shows that I will get 740 fame when dead.
- Leave your pet in the pet yard, then very carefully making sure you don't use your ability or fire a shot get to someplace that will kill your character. Reap the reward of 740 fame. Now go feed that pet.
- The whole process took me about 40 minutes. If you become really experienced at this you can do it much faster.
Reasons to farm fame
Some of you want to know why you should farm fame. There are a few that which I will list below.
Tips on Farming Fame
Other reasons to join a Fame Train
Get the White Star and be like Bluenoser
The first question you have to answer is how many characters slots do you want to finally end up with on your main account? If the answer is only one because you don't want to spend real money then you have another choice. What is the character you want to start with and what is the final character that you want to end with?
Some of you want to know why you should farm fame. There are a few that which I will list below.
- To get the White Star and be like Bluenoser (see topic below). This task is made just a bit easier with the program Muledump.
- Bragging rights, getting your Knight or other character to the top 100, or top 10 or even better. Farming fame is a reliable and somewhat safe way to do this.
- Pets Pets Pets - If you are a cheap bastard like me then you are going to be using fame to feed your pets and fame to upgrade your pet yard.
Tips on Farming Fame
- To acquire fame at a faster rate when in Godlands, fight the gods with a group of people, makes sense right? The more people in the group fighting, the faster the fame comes. The beautiful thing is, as long as you are in a group that is shooting at gods you don't have to fire a shot to accumulate fame.
- The fame train is basically a large group of people that fights together in Godlands. The more people in the group going through Godlands in a common direction the faster you accumulate your fame. There are some servers such as AsiaEast, EUNorth and EUWest2 where players actively create God Trains while most of the other servers God Trains almost never form and usually its only a large group that last for a short time.
- If you want to acquire fame at a very fast rate seek out God Trains. Start announcing God Trains in the realm you are in when there is a group of people fighting in Godlands. Once people start seeing the term "Fame Train Here" you will find that many more people will try to create them or join them.
- I have acquired more than 100 fame in about an hour with a very large group of people. Going solo you might get a third of that if you are lucky.
- The trick is to find the group and stay in the group. If you are a Priest, Necromancer, Paladin or Warrior then use your ability to help the group live. The more people shooting and killing monsters really adds to the fame you are receiving.
- I have found that a Paladins ability is best used at the front of the group to heal and buff attack. The warriors will buff for Attack. Necromancers can help clear the Gods and with their ability keep the front of the group healthy. Priests should concentrate on keeping the group healthy and alive.
- Always pay attention to make sure that you and some of the people around did not split off from the main group. Sure you are still killing gods but because you are not in the larger group you are not getting the maximum amount of Fame that you could be. TP back to the main group.
- When in a train farming fame, it is important that the train stay in Godlands and try resist the urge to do the dungeons that drop from the Gods. The more people that do dungeons the slower the fame for the people that stay with the train.
- Farming fame can be dangerous if you are not watching what is going on. I have seen 20 or 30 people die when they came upon 2 or 3 Medusa's that fired their blood bomb into the group.
- Read up on Fame Bonuses, then keep checking your character on Muledump from time to time to see what fame bonuses he has. Read Get the White Star below for more information on Muledump.
Other reasons to join a Fame Train
- I like doing the Mad Labs because of the really nice gear you can get. The problem is they don't drop as often as I like on the servers I usually play on. The solution to the drop problem is joining a fame train. You will see Mad Labs drop pretty regular. Then a bunch of people will enter the lab and rush it. Make sure you teleport to the boss in time to get your soul bound in.
- It is my experience that a high number of eggs drop from the Gods as the fame train tears through godlands. I always get several eggs, never the ones I want but lots.
Get the White Star and be like Bluenoser
The first question you have to answer is how many characters slots do you want to finally end up with on your main account? If the answer is only one because you don't want to spend real money then you have another choice. What is the character you want to start with and what is the final character that you want to end with?
- If the answer is more than 1 character slot then you really have the same choices as above but which 2 characters are you going to end up with when you finally get the white star?
- If you are planing to have all the character slots active then the only choice is simply which to start with.
- When I decided to go for my white star, I had already been playing for about 4 or 5 months so it was not planned and I already had about 40 stars.
- Planning your quest for the white star can make a lot of things easier unless you plan to end up with all your characters at 2000 base fame.
- You need to review and know how Fame Bonuses work because this will make your quest easier.
- You will also need to use Muledump to follow your progress and show how to achieve these fame bonuses.
- You may want to get the White star as fast as possible and trust me it can be done fairly quickly. Quickly is a relative term here. If you play 2 or 3 hours a day it will take you maybe 2 months if you are dedicated to your white star quest.
- Every class has 5 Class Quests which translate into 5 stars per class. To get the 5 stars you have to reach 2000 fame on that class.
- Holy crap are you saying that I have to get 2000 fame on each of the 14 classes to get my white star? You are a fracking idiot! No, that is not the case fortunately.
- You have to plan your characters suicide (at the proper time). You do this by selecting the Fame Bonuses you want to end up with 2000 fame. By using Muledump to track your progress it will tell you very accurately what your fame will be when your character dies.
- You did read the link above on Fame Bonuses right? If not read it now because you need to know it.
- When you die your character gets all the achievements he accomplished calculated as Fame Bonus. This could take a character that has 450 base fame before he dies and give him 800 fame after he dies.
- You need to see what Achievements you want to get watch them stack using Muledump. Muledump will show the base fame and the calculated fame for every achievement you get and what the final fame is if you die at that moment.
- For Example: One one of the last characters I played on my quest for the white star
- See Blue's Assassin. In this example you can see that my character was potted but if you are careful you don't have to pot your character. I had originally intended to keep this one but then Ninja was coming out so I had to have a slot for the Ninja and thats the reason I killed the Assassin.
- Before I died I had 903 base fame. After I died I had 2090 fame which gets me the 5 Stars.
- Check out the achievements that got in Muledump then check the Fame Bonus page above to see how to get those achievements.
- In the example above I started with 903 base fame and got over 2000. I had a Trickster that I suicided with 801 fame and got over 2000 fame after the bonuses were calculated. The lower your base fame is when trying to ultimately get 2000 fame after a suicide is much harder to do.
- Ok that's all fine and good but I still have to get over 900 fame and that's going to take time. That is true, no matter how you slice it, getting 900 fame will take time even if you are fame farming.
- Just before you suicide, you need to reload your Muledump and check to make sure that you will die with the right amount of fame. Making changes to your equipment or even shooting something can make huge changes to the fame you end up with
- Now you are on the road to your White Star, good luck. I played for about 6 months before I got my White Star because it was not planned, and I really only tried fame farming on the last 3 characters.
- I am betting that you can do it faster.
